⨂ ADULTS - Western Hercules Rhino Beetle, (Dynastes grantii)

Common name - Western Hercules Rhinoceros Beetle
Scientific name - Dynastes grantii

The listing is for 1x adult beetle, of the largest rhino beetle species in the USA. Unlike other members of the Hercules Rhino Beetle family, adults of the Western Hercules are a minty-white colour instead of the typical black + yellow.

Like many members of the rhino & stag beetle families, males sport impressive horns used in wrestling matches with rivals, whereas females are hornless.

These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from Arizona, US.

Like many members of the rhino/stag beetle families, the males of this species possess large horns/mandibles used in wrestling matches with rival males, while females lack these structures. The adult beetles feed on a variety of fruits such as banana, apple, pear, peach and watermelon. The larvae feed on decaying wood.
