⨂ ADULTS - Hercules Rhino Beetle "Pearl Eye", (Dynastes hercules)

Common name - Hercules Rhinoceros Beetle "Pearl Eye"
Scientific name - Dynastes hercules hercules "Pearl Eye"

The listing is for 1x, adult beetle, of the largest beetle species in the world, where the current world record specimen has been measured at just over 180mm. This is a rare, selectively bred bloodline with a mutation that makes their eye colour a pearly pink, instead of the normal black.

Like many members of the rhino & stag beetle families, males sport impressive horns used in wrestling matches with rivals, whereas females are hornless.

These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from Guadeloupe Island in the Caribbean.

Like many members of the rhino/stag beetle families, the males of this species possess large horns/mandibles used in wrestling matches with rival males, while females lack these structures. The adult beetles feed on a variety of fruits such as banana, apple, pear, peach and watermelon. The larvae feed on decaying wood.
