⨂ Giant Titan Isopod, (Porcellio hoffmannseggii)

Common name - Giant Titan Isopod
Scientific name - Porcellio hoffmannseggi

Care Parameters:
- Temperature: 18-26 °C
- Humidity: low-medium
- Ventilation/Airflow: medium-high
- Difficulty: medium

The listing is for 1x animal, of a gigantic species of isopod (rolypoly/pillbug/woodlice) that holds the record for being one of the largest isopod species available in the hobby, rivalled by Porcellio expansus and Porcellio magnificus. Older males can get particularly huge with their elongated uropods (+55mm total length).

These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from Spain, Europe. When a group is purchased, the isopods sent will be an assorted mixture of ages and sizes, to ensure a good start to a breeding colony.

Like other giant Porcellio species, this species prefers a less moist environment compared to other isopods, with plenty of airflow as well.

The isopods feed on a variety of forest materials such as decaying wood and leaf litter. Additional supplements such as calcium (limestone/cuttlefish bone) and fish food should be offered as part of their balanced diet.
