⨂ ADULTS - Monkey Longarm Beetle, (Propomacrus bimucronatus)
Common name - Monkey Longarm Beetle
Scientific name - Propomacrus bimucronatus
The listing is for 1x adult beetle, of a rarely available group of beetles called the longarm beetles. This group is a separate family from the rest of the usually available beetle families such as flower beetle/rhino beetle/stag beetles.
The males of the longarm beetle family are well known for their unusually long arms which they use to shovel and flip rival males.
These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with the stock originating from Turkey.
The adult beetles feed on a variety of fruits such as banana, apple, pear, peach and watermelon. The larvae feed on decaying wood.
