⨂ Larvae - Atlas Rhino Beetle, (Chalcosoma atlas)

Common name - Atlas Rhinoceros Beetle
Scientific name - Chalcosoma atlas

The listing is for 1x beetle larva, of the Atlas Rhinoceros Beetle which are characterised by their impressive 3 horns + metallic green colouration, and is the third largest rhino beetle species that can be found in Asia.

This species should not be confused with the often identically named "Chiron Rhino Beetle" (C. caucasus) which is a different and much larger species (largest rhino beetle species in Asia).

These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from South East Asia.

Like many members of the rhino/stag beetle families, the males of this species possess large horns/mandibles used in wrestling matches with rival males, while females lack these structures. The adult beetles feed on a variety of fruits such as banana, apple, pear, peach and watermelon. The larvae feed on decaying wood.
