The listing is for 1x beetle larva, of a very rare species of rhino beetle which are being offered for sale in the UK for the first time.

The Moellenkampi Rhinoceros Beetle is characterised by its impressive 3 horns + metallic green colouration. This is the second largest rhino beetle species in Asia, and measures slightly smaller in length than the largest species (Chalcosoma chiron), but is larger in height.

These are CAPTIVE BRED, with this stock originating from Kalimantan, Indonesia.

Like many members of the rhino/stag beetle families, the males of this species possess large horns/mandibles used in wrestling matches with rival males, while females lack these structures. The adult beetles feed on a variety of fruits such as banana, apple, pear, peach and watermelon. The larvae feed on decaying wood.
