⨂ Larvae - "Crimson" Ogre Stag Beetle, (Hexarthius nyishi)

Common name - Ogre Stag Beetle "Crimson"
Scientific name - Hexarthius forsteri nyishi "Crimson"

The listing is for 1x beetle larva, of a spectacular species of stag beetle native to India. This species is well known for their striking red body and thick mandibles with large protrusions. This is a very rare species and it is the first time it is being offered for sale in the UK.

These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from India.

Like many members of the rhino/stag beetle families, the males of this species possess large horns/mandibles used in wrestling matches with rival males, while females lack these structures. The adult beetles feed on a variety of fruits such as banana, apple, pear, peach and watermelon. The larvae feed on decaying wood.
