Common name - Snake Tongue Flower Beetle
Scientific name - Mecynorrhina harrisii eximia

The listing is for 1x beetle larva, of a RARE species of horned flower beetle. The adults have a spotted back and very large horns tipped in red which resemble red serpent tongues.

These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from Cameroon.

This species is closely related to Mecynorrhina ugandensis - the second largest Flower Beetle species in the world after Goliath Beetles.

The adult beetles feed on a variety of fruits such as banana, apple, pear, peach and watermelon. The larvae feed on decaying wood and leaf litter.
