Scientific name - Prosopocoilus giraffa keisukei "Ghost Eye"

The listing is for 1x beetle larva, of a RARE, selectively bred bloodline from Japan of this giant species of stag beetle. This species is native to South East Asia that holds the record for being the largest stag beetle species in the world. As the species name suggests, these are named after giraffes due to the ratio of their mandibles being particularly long compared to their body.

This bloodline exhibits a mutation where adult beetles lack the black pigment in their eyes, making them white. This is the first time this bloodline is being sold in the UK.

These are CAPTIVE BRED in my collection, with this stock originating from Flores Island in Indonesia.

Like many members of the rhino/stag beetle families, the males of this species possess large horns/mandibles used in wrestling matches with rival males, while females lack these structures. The adult beetles feed on a variety of fruits such as banana, apple, pear, peach and watermelon. The larvae feed on decaying wood.
